Loving this laser cut seaweed by Japanese ad agency I&SBBDO. The designer sushi uses intricate designs that symbolise classic Japanese themes such as Beauty, Growth, Longevity and Happiness. The agency was briefed to help Umino Seaweed boost their business after the 2011 Tsunami . It’s hard to think of a product that could spur less interest online than a black square of seaweed. The design of a square of Nori has not changed since its creation in the 15th century,” the ad agency wrote. Check it out here:
I've always thought it would be very cool to take a picture of what you can see just through blinking. Google isn't far off in their Project Glass demo video but you will have to wear glasses in their version of the future. You'll also have to play the ukelele, hang with your hipster mates in front of food trucks and make notes through talking to yourself out loud in public whilst looking very carefully where you're going while lots of notifications pop up over your very eyes. Just read a really boring and waffly article on gamification then watched this. Faith in good creative without need for digital jargon restored. YAY for the Swedish who think Sex is more fun when you add data (and a condom).
I love a good future vision piece and in Microsoft's latest everyone will wear glasses that can translate languages, use paper thin transparent hand held devices, be completely connected to everything and even have grass walls in their offices. They will also be super productive, connected to their family even though they're miles away and never look at anything more seductive than a nice data visualisation on their desktops - (motion activated porn anyone? or is that just me?).
I particularly like the digital paper magazine that comes to life with a mobile device; the smart refrigerator that suggest recipes based on its contents and the idea of surfaces that are connected to the internet and can support holographs and I love love the recipe visualisation on the kitchen surface.
Some things in the vid are not far off at all - think motion activated desktops (kinnect) and interactive video billboards which to varying degrees of sophistication already exist. Others are a bit more of a stretch - i.e. a taxi cab window that is synced up to your calendar and can recognise time and location. Or grass that grows horizontally on walls.
Also - why is everyone in the future a successful architect who travels the world purely for business before returning home to their immaculately sanitised homes and well behaved smarter than normal IQ'd children?
